Three generations of discretion
Hawthorne & Co. began as a single tailoring room off Jermyn Street, cutting shirts for men who wanted cloth that would outlive the fashion around it. A century later the brief has not changed: fewer pieces, better materials, made in numbered runs by ateliers we know by name.
Partner ateliers
Tailoring is made in Naples and Tuscany, knitwear in Hawick, shirting in Somerset and Portugal, leather goods in Walsall. Each workshop is family-run, and each run is limited by how much they can finish by hand in a season.
Raw materials
Grade-A Mongolian cashmere, Super 130's Italian wool, extra-long staple Egyptian cotton, Irish linen and vegetable-tanned English bridle leather — chosen because they improve with wear rather than survive it.
